Fax machines are still in 59 percent of Japanese homes, Harlan found. They are still popular because of a cultural interest in the use of paper and handwriting.
Well, we all know — just by looking around us — that in many parts of the world the murky fax has gone the way of the typewriter, replaced by Adobe Acrobat PDF files attached to email.
