Google last week introduced EarlGrey, a functional user interface testing framework for Apple iOS apps. YouTube, Google Calendar, Google Photos, Google Translate and Google Play Music have successfully adopted the framework, the company said.
Although I am new to the mobile app development world, I think this is a very smart move on Google's part. It makes good business sense and will be a win-win for both Google and iOS developers. Ultimately, the end user will benefit. I prefer the Android platform as an end-user but see the wisdom in Google going open-source for iOS.
