The Raspberry Pi Foundation on Wednesday launched the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+. The new release comes two years after the introduction of its predecessor, the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B. The Raspberry Pi computer runs the open source Raspbian operating system. The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ is an incremental upgrade to a line of predecessors that have become entrenched in education, hobbyist and industry markets. “The initial production run was only 10,000 boards,” noted Simon Ritter, deputy CTO of Azul Systems.
It's extremely disappointing to see someone of your stature stoop to promoting and promulgating the Raspberry Pi organization's pap of "...Gigabit Ethernet...":
"...The Gigabit Ethernet boost (over USB) is nearly three times faster than the previous 100-MB speed..."
If this is the case (and it is), why do you not SAY that "...the 10/100 Ethernet has been boosted to 300 MHz..."?
It is NOT GIGABIT ETHERNET!
No amount of circumlocution, repetition, or the pushing of a disingenuous characterization by the Raspberry Pi organization will make it so.
Reputation and credibility, like the TV-spot used to say, are terrible things to waste, Mr. Germain.
Haha EXCELLENT! I have been using the Raspberry 3 for VPN and remote backup via SSH, it is fantastic. Now all it needs to be perfect is USB3. I recently tried the Rock64 because of the USB3 and 1Gb Ethernet, but its no good. Needs much more development, and does not have the support like the Raspberry
