One of the most highly anticipated gaming titles ever, No Man’s Sky from indie developer Hello Games, has arrived — and it could have a major impact on the resurgent gaming world this season. The title made its PS4 debut on Tuesday in North America and on Wednesday in Europe. It will be available for the PC on Friday. The long-awaited game takes players on a mind-bending journey of space exploration, allowing them to take a deep dive into distant planets filled with deep water oceans, alien life forms and unseen threats.
It is a very artistic game. It's like a painting that, if you look too close at first, you see its flaws way too early on. The programming of flight between a Quintilian planet surfaces to the vastness of space is magestic and incredibly simple in its execution. Exploring every planet and moon you find is beautiful in diversity, and yet somehow there are very dull similarities that become very familiar, very quickly.
Its a game of quiet. Its not a grand COD or Battefield pew-pew type game. Its more along the lines of any standard flight simulator but with the major difference that it lets you get out of your spaceship. You can actually enjoy the simplicity in exploration because you don't have multiplayer elements or npc's asking you to fetch things because they can't. That, in itself, is its major flaw. Its sometimes just plain lonely. No one can hear you scream. Literally. 7/10.
