Barnes & Noble has sent out invitations to a press conference this week in New York City. The specific topic of the event, set for Nov. 7, is unclear — but it’s almost certain the spotlight will be on its Nook. It is widely expected that B&N will unveil its answer to Amazon’s Kindle Fire — that is, a 7-inch Nook Color tablet designed to compete with the Fire in price and functionality. The Kindle Fire has effectively carved out a place for itself at the low end of the tablet market, with its loss-leader $199 price point. Amazon intends to make its profits on content sales.
Sorry the Nook is half baked and I am not sure Nook Tablet 2 will be any better. Unless it gives users more then a few select Apps its just going to be a reader for those with a occasional need for Web access and playing a game or two.
Can the Nook Color Find a Niche in the Tablet Market?
