In general, sales and profits for the quarter were good. Revenue rose 13 percent to $16.4 billion and profits climbed 31 percent, to $5.2 billion. Those numbers are largely a reflection of the performance of Microsoft’s reliable workhorse, Office, and Xbox Kinect.
