Now it’s official: All four major wireless networks are now claiming they are 4G. Oh really. Aha. Baloney. I really have learned to admire wireless marketing over the years, but there are a few parts that are just wrong. This is one of them. The wireless industry is crossing the line. If the carriers don’t watch out, they may hurt themselves in the long run, when customers and investors will no longer believe the words coming out of their mouths. At this point, no carrier is all 4G.
As a Verizon customer I am not fooled by this so called G numbering. It says nothing about how much faster it is compared to the previous generation. As someone who uses a broadband card I find its consistent speed that is of issue in many places. Sure if I want to watch a movie at 2 AM in a Major city that my carrier has their best service then maybe I'll get good bandwidth. But try that in Nebraska! No the marketing is deceiving and I am waiting for someone to file a suit for paying for 4G when their not getting 2G speed. Its coming.
