Although I may be a lone voice in the wireless wilderness, I still believe the personal computer is not only alive, but healthy as a horse.
According to Discover Mag, there is a new technology which uses em pulse rather than carrier waves. It would have virtually unlimited bandwidth and penetrate walls. Put that into a satellite and I could take a laptop on my boat 50 miles out in the Gulf, have my GPS and navigational software, read my E-mail, access the web, call the wife and CALL THE COAST GUARD if I broke down. THAT would be technology worth having. At present, a cell phone won't work when you really need it - when you break down at sea or get bitten by a snake hiking in the Everglades. Currently, I have no use for wireless.
Does anyone really know about the ethics and integrity of NeoPoint, makers of the PCS phone NP1000? I'd like to share stories with anyone who has had a run-in with them.
Thank you!!
