Just months after a Georgia town announced that it would provide free Internet access to its citizens for at least a year, state Governor Roy Barnes and Bell South Corp. (NYSE: BLS) have unveiled an initiative to bring high-speed Internet access to residents in all reaches of the state.
Fantastic, the two people in the sticks who can spell computer can not get a high-speed connection while I, a Web programmer, can't get it from my house in Metro Atlanta. Yeah, my tax dollars at work.
I am very happy to see that high-speed internet access will soon be provided to Rural areas of Georgia. I currently live in Atlanta and telecommute from my home, but will be moving to a Rural part of GA that does not provide such a service. I don't think that people realize that Rural parts of Georgia, such as Walton County, contain educated people. Thank you for the article.
