Facebook last week announced that its Messenger app had reached the 800 million monthly user milestone. It’s a standalone app, so one doesn’t have to be a Facebook member to use it, and it’s cross-platform, running on smartphones, tablets and desktops. This year, Facebook plans to make it easier to do business using Messenger, said David Marcus, vice president of messaging.
