The $11 billion export component of the business American companies do with Chinese electronics giant Huawei is safe for at least 90 days. The U.S. Commerce Department has extended the Temporary General License for Huawei and its non-U.S. affiliates to buy goods from American companies. The license is needed because the Commerce Department has placed Huawei and its affiliates on the Entity List, a blacklist for companies the department sees as engaged in activities that are contrary to U.S. national security or foreign policy interests.
