Having failed to convince VeriSign to suspend its Web redirection service that began September 15th, the body that oversees all domain registrars is now pointing to contract violations and demanding that VeriSign halt the service. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) sent a letter to VeriSign that faulted VeriSign’s service for its “substantial adverse effect on the core operation of the domain name system, on the stability of the Internet and the .com and .net top-level domains.”
