Linux is irritating Microsoft, and the software giant isn’t going to take it anymore. On Monday, the maker of the Windows operating system launched what it says will be a prolonged advertising campaign to “get the facts” before the IT community about the cost benefits of its OS over its open-source competitor. “Over the past year, software cost and value has been a common issue raised by IT customers,” a Microsoft spokesperson told TechNewsWorld.
About Al Gillen remark about the cost of the car. If it is a lemmon then the COST GOES UP. Time and effort to control and work with the OS can be come a issue that drives up the cost up in expert fees in the long term. Microsoft is correct and BUYER BEWARE is the case here. OS are not what they seam besides QNX is a realtime kernal allong with windows CE which Linux can not match. it may be free but can you use, control, and know it.
Yes the Car can be free But depending how the car is Built that will tell you the cost. A lemon is lemon and if the OS is hard to work with and requiers effort and experts to run it. Sorry the maintance of car is not the SAME. Microsoft is right buyers beware they say. Prove to me that linux is better then MS XP or Windows 2003 Server in every way and aspect then you have something to talk about. Linux is not there yet!
