Microsoft’s business division today announced a new version of Great Plains, a financial management software package. According to the company, the new version of Great Plains, now in version 8.0, offers improved usability and functionality for distribution, manufacturing and project accounting. Microsoft also claims the new version will integrate more effectively with Microsoft’s Business Portal 2.5 and Microsoft Office 2003. “With over 120 enhancements, customers will realize enormous value from Microsoft Great Plains 8.0,” said Karen Engel, group product manager with Microsoft Business Solutions.
