Internet search and content giant Google, known as one of the top aggregators of news and other information online, has been sued by Agence France Press (AFP) for allegedly publishing copyrighted content without permission. The French media publisher — which is seeking more than US$17 million in damages and an injunction barring Google from further publishing its news stories and photos — took its action in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia last week.
Hmm. Not to mention the 'basic' flaw in their logic, which is that *they* are the ones publishing and thus releasing the news and images to the public, or Google couldn't index them in the first place... What next, do we start sueing people for looking at the car we parked in our drive way or someone that happens to snap a photo of it, on the basis we didn't give anyone else permission to see it? lol This is nuts.
