Microsoft has allegedly stolen technology developed by a Guatemalan inventor. The technology in question is designed to link spreadsheet data between two of Microsoft’s programs. Plaintiff lawyers delivered opening statements in a jury trial that started on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court of Central California. Guatemalan software engineer Carlos Armando Amado’s lawsuit claims he filed for a patent in 1990 for software he invented while he was a graduate student at Stanford University.
No wonder. So, what else is new? Everyone knows that Microsoft plays hardball whenever they can. And they always think that they can get away with it because they are Microsoft.
