Last week, Microsoft announced its new search push at Google — and unlike Live Search, which was a joke, Bing looks to have the right stuff. The question is, can Microsoft get people to move? Palm initially looked as though it was going to get iPhone users to move, but that hope started to sputter last week. It increasingly looked like Palm would follow Netscape and Transmeta in making the mistake of scaring a competitor into corporocidal behavior. Rather than taking a bite out of Apple, it looks like Palm may be pwned.
In the current era of Apple, going back to 1997, it has always faced competition and regularly rolled out product improvements. The idea that there's something special about Palm's offering that "scared" Apple is (at best) silly. They continually compete by making better products; nothing new there.
Exactly who decided that Sprint is the "least capable of carriers?" I have had Sprint for years and am one of their Premier customers and I get great coverage at a great price and have incredible store reps that I deal with. I'm thrilled that the Pre will be coming out on Sprint and I will be getting one this week.
As for Palm bashing the iphone- they have not been the ones doing it. If anything- Apple has been the one instructing their employees to laud the iphone and its apps when asked about the Pre comparison.
I happen to own an iMac and love Apple. That does not mean I am not open to new and inventive products. Can't we all just get along?
