Sprint on Friday launched the HTC Evo 4G smartphone to a chorus of mixed reviews. Some hailed it as the best Android smartphone yet; others pointed out some flaws, both with the device and with Sprint’s 4G network. HTC has said it will fix some of the problems with the Evo by issuing an over-the-air update; the claimed problems with Sprint’s 4G network, however, may be somewhat more difficult to resolve. The HTC Evo offers simultaneous voice and data capability on 4G or WiFi networks.
I abandoned Sprint about 7 years ago and thought I should come back because of the Evo Android phone. The customer service at the Sprint store in Alexandria, VA was excellent and flawless. I was taken care of within minutes and my Evo phone got activated with no issues.
Sprint's Customer Service still seems to be absolutely bad. I am completely disappointed. I was in a BestBuy today to activate my new EVO 4G. The process started at 11am and now at 3:30pm I have given up and will never do business with Sprint again and will spread the word. First, the activation system was down for hours. Also the Best Buy rep was put on hold for 20min then after giving a bunch of my info to the Sprint care rep, she said she had to transfer to another agent to assist. That rep she transferred us to said she couldnt help. All this for hours of waiting on the line an no one is able to help. I gave up. Sprint has big problems in Customer Service for years and despite promised changes - clearly no improvement. They have just lost a potential high revenue customer who was ready to give $100/month in revenue. Sprint you are so bad!!
