Just over a year after its beta launch, Google has opened its Google Voice service to all comers. During the invitation-only period, more than one million users signed up, according to the company. One important question, though, is how many more people actually want to use the all-in-one-number service. “It’s not like the beta was keeping anyone out,” said Carl Howe, director with the Yankee Group. As with past launches such as Gmail, Google Voice invitations were easy to get hold of.

You have got to be kidding me. GV invites were anything but easy to come by (Gmail was an entireley different story).
Any company [Yankee Group] that has to advertise on the the front page of their website that they are "... the most respected source..." is generally a shop full of tool bags. Keep begging for respect.
What is the point in publishing misleading information about Google these days? Is anyone really still THAT STUPID to believe anything they touch isn't as good as gold?
I've been saying "I told you so" to many past business associates for choosing the competition over Google for the past several years.
The only reason people still use Blackberrys or iPhones is either stubborn loyalty or complete ignorance of what Google services have to offer.
