Satellite television provider Dish Network plans to release a load of apps this fall that will allow its subscribers to watch its program offerings on Apple’s iFamily of mobile devices — the iPhone, iPad and iPod — as well as Research In Motion Blackberries and smartphones running Google’s Android operating system. Although the mobile service itself will be free, additional hardware acquisitions or upgrades needed to make the offering work could cost some subscribers as much as $400.
Do not buy this terrible product. It is designed to stop functioning just after the 90 day warranty. In order for you to get support, they charge you outrageous fee's -- something like $30 per call. Do yourself a favor and avoid Slingbox.
Har. To see how well Dish is managing Slingbox just swing over to their support boards today and read the posts by thousands left with dead boxes since a so-called "data migration" fiasco last week. The problem continues and the once stellar Slingbox name keeps getting more tarnish "Dished" on it with every passing hour.
