Last week, both Google and Sony were talking trash numbers in competitive comments against Microsoft. Both did this when the SEC is having real problems with public companies and numbers, so I thought they were incredibly brave, given how incredibly fanciful their numbers were. I also want to take a moment to comment on Wikileaks, because I truly think that people who feel that the death penalty is appropriate for a 23-year-old abused gay whistleblower, but ignore what he exposed in terms of capital crimes, have lost their perspective — if not their minds.
Chrome OS on a PC is essentially a thin client and using third-party websites improves the return on investment by cutting out the cost of setting up and running local servers. Far more than 1% of end-users can go for that. People are tired of fixing that other OS and its fleas, malware. Chrome OS can likely serve 80% of the needs of people for personal IT. I have been at my PC for many hours already today. I spent 99% of my time on the web with a browser and played a bit of music. As long as these machines can do that there will be a huge market for them. Where I work we do have a ton of local applications but the web gets the bulk of users' attention. Chrome OS will do very well for what people need done. Word-processing on the web is still not popular but it will be shortly. Wired folks do not need printers as much as we did. They use web sites and e-mail more than they use paper.
Mr. Enderle I respectfully disagree with your comparison of a local issue (California) & a National security issue (WikiLeaks). I have not read the wikiLeaks but will say WikiLeaks will have a negative affect our National Security. I still believe we are the most humane country in the world if, you want to compare. The Wikileaks are designed to take US down & make some of our citizens ashamed. I would rather be ashamed, which I am not, then dead. Islamic terrorists do not look at anyone who does NOT agree with their "religious" beliefs & agenda as an equal, they look at US as subhuman, they will cut your head off & eat dinner a few minutes after without a second thought. I also believe that we need to do whatever it takes to protect OUR People. I am also sorry to here of his his background of abuse he suffered BUT there is no excuse to abuse US as well. Also I do not believe he was alone in his "terrorist" action. He was in our Military & betrayed our country.
Oh my God. With all the respect, I have never read so many poop. Really. Saying Android is a crap won't really make anyone happy. And your research, my friend, was a waste of time, since you didn't see that many of the Android phoneas and tablets are being updated constantly, and the main problems with the phones are related to hardware, made by other companies, and not Google. Have you seen how many Samsung Galaxy devices were sold? And the succes of the Nexus one? Now they are making the Nexus Two! So, before saying stuff like that, without good arguments, think about it. I am not going to comment what you wrote about the other topics... Waste of time...
Google and Sony vs. Microsoft, and a Touch of Wikileaks Insanity
