Windows 10 Anniversary Update has introduced many mitigation techniques in core Windows components and the Microsoft Edge browser, helping protect customers from entire classes of exploits for recent and even undisclosed vulnerabilities, Matt Oh and Elia Florio of Microsoft’s Windows Defender ATP Research Team wrote in an online post last week.
You had to figure when Microsoft offered Windows 10 upgrade for free for a year it wasn't really giving away the store. Anyone who thought Microsoft all of a sudden was being generous was a bit naive to say the least. Why give enterprise the best solutions when security is more needed where the consumer is? Enterprise at the very least employs a very rigid and secure environment. Its consumers who lack skills or money to afford good security or know what to do to stay safe. Sadly Microsoft is looking to where the money is, not so much protecting all of its users. As a user of Windows for decades I have never become more distrustful of disappointed in Microsoft. I'm very much trying my best to avoid anything Microsoft these days.
