The autonomous car has thrown the automotive industry — an industry that is notoriously slow to change — into the forefront of technology. The autonomous car has become a technology catalyst because it requires innovation in many areas, ranging from processor and sensor technology to AI. As with all new technologies, the industry rushes to focus on consumers because they represent the billion-dollar pot of gold, but as with many other new technologies, it is the industrial applications that are likely to take hold first.
Thanks for sharing this information. I think people will agree with me that they won't risk their family to ride inside one of these self-driving cars, unless these cars could guarantee our safety. I could read quite many accidents with these cars involved since few years ago. I think car manufacturers should really think about perfecting the safety features before bringing these cars to public.
Never going to happen any time soon. The only way this could work is if the self driving cars have a road system all to themselves, humans and computers on the same roads, disaster. How about the insurance companies, how about the price of these things, its all pie in the sky rubbish. In the 1950s they were telling people flying cars were just round the corner
