Mousepad is a notepad-like graphical text editor for Xfce based on the Leafpad text editor that runs on any Linux desktop. It is very handy as a go-to tool when you do not have any heavy lifting to do. If you are looking for a text editor that functions more like a lightweight word processor, then look elsewhere. Mousepad is far too simple for those needs. But do not shy away from this mousy basic note-taking and text file editing app if you want a swift and simple solution to jotting down your thoughts.

I first installed Mousepad in the Spring of 2020. It had tabs by then. They worked beautifully.
I switched from Gedit because gedit had a distracting shadow effect round its border. I couldn't get rid of it, however hard I tried.
(I hate screen effects. It's a 2D screen - why pretend otherwise? Who are you kidding?)
But my 'Recent files' list is permanently empty. Anyone got a fix?

How will the pandemic influence your holiday shopping habits this year?
I will shop online exclusively, for my own safety and to help limit the spread of the coronavirus.
I will do some shopping online, and some in-person because I want to support merchants in my area.
I will shop online definitely, and I will consider local retailers -- but only if they provide curbside service.
I will only shop in-person because the risks associated with e-commerce outweigh my chance of catching COVID-19.
I will not do any holiday shopping this year due to circumstances related to the pandemic.
