Research In Motion's service outage earlier this week occurred because a new BlackBerry storage feature had not been sufficiently tested, the company said on Friday. RIM added the new component to the BlackBerry server environment to streamline the process for storing items on the devices. However, because the feature was not thoroughly tested, RIM did not realize that introducing it would trigger interaction errors between its operational database and cache.

As a reply to Mr. Shankman's comment, "Where else would I go, Sidekick with Paris Hilton?", I must say "Windows Mobile". I used a Blackberry for several years and in recent months have switched to a Windows Mobile device to try it out. So far I like it just fine, but the best benefit I've realized so far: one less point of failure. I had no knowledge of a Blackberry problem until one of my coworkers (who uses a Blackberry) called to ask me if I was having email problems as well, to which I happily replied that I wasn't. Nothing beats a direct tie to Exchange.

Given the spread of the Covid-19 Delta variant, if my employer requires me to return to the company's location in 2021, I will...
Agree because I'm fully vaccinated.
Agree if the company institutes a mandatory mask requirement and other safety protocols.
Comply reluctantly, because I can't afford to lose my job, but start looking for different employment.
Resign immediately so I can dedicate all of my time to find a job I feel is safer.
Resign because I'm not vaccinated and don't want to risk infection to myself or others.
