Picking the launch dates for the iPad 2 and iPhone 5 has become the hottest game in town among analysts and the media. Some speculate that the iPad 2 will ship in March and that Apple will come out with an iPad 3 as early as September. Others suggest production delays are impacting the upcoming rollout of both the iPhone 5 and iPad 2 and will cause the iPhone 5's release date to slip to September, rather than the late June/early July time frame in which previous models have arrived on shelves.

3/2 Event

We now know that there will be an Apple event next Wednesday. So much of the speculation above seems mute. But here's my take on it all.
They'll announce updates to MacBooks, iMacs, the iOS and of course, the iPad 2. Probably adding Lightpeak or Thunderbolt to everything. Probably even announcing what the billion dollar data center is to be used for. The iPad 2.5 won't be announced, but it will actually be an iPod "Grande" (5 inch screen, wifi only so not an iPad...) that will launch with the usual iPod updates in September. No reason for Apple to change announcement or current launch schedules...
