The Web sites are fancy, and the merchandise is nicely arranged with
descriptions telling you exactly what your hard-earned money will buy,
but these e-tailers aren't selling books or blenders. They're virtual
brothels, offering sex for sale.
"Online prostitution has proven to be a highly profitable venture,"
Peter Hampton, the founder and president of Web Police,
an international crime fighting organization that serves as a clearing
house for complaints of online criminal activity, told the E-Commerce Times.
"It is growing at a rate equal to or exceeding pornography."

There is a reason that this is called the oldest profession. Prostitution is not going away.
IMO if both parties engage in it willingly then there is nothing wrong with it, sometimes it can even improve relationships.
For example, consider what might happen if one partner is physically incapable of taking care of the other person's sexual needs. Why shouldn't the incapacitated partner be able to provide their partner/husband/wife with a gift certificate for "free sex." In this way their needs are still taken care of and there is less opportunity for resentment to build.
