After weeks of striking a conciliatory and cooperative tone, Craigslist is going on the offensive in the controversy over its erotic services section. Craigslist CEO Jim Buckmaster filed a complaint in a federal court in South Carolina, seeking declaratory relief and a restraining order against the state's attorney general, Henry McMaster, who has threatened to investigate and file criminal charges against Craigslist for its adult services ads.

In my opinion, South Carolina has some of the most skilled and cheapest whores of any state, and they don't need to advertise on CL because they are too busy servicing the corrupt politicians and born again preachers in the state. What McMaster is trying to do is shut down all the starving single parent mothers and other amateurs who pose a threat to the establishment approved whores. They want to control the industry and receive nice stipends from the pimps. McMaster should be investigated.

You can't protect people from themselves

If you remove that section they will post under a diffrent section and then, people who are not looking at those types of adds are unfairly exposed to them. You can not protect people from themselves. They are going to do what they are going to do and that includes advertizing. Life is risk and people put themselves at risk every day for whatever is inportant to them. God, Country, Money etc... No one ever went on a blind date without some degree of risk, should we start pulling down the online dating sites next?
