I started off the week with dueling events: the Apple WWDC, where they talked about Snow Leopard and the second generation iPhone, HP's massive product announcement, and Microsoft's TechEd, where I learned more about Unlimited Vista. I was taken by the fact that Apple missed with the iPhone with the product coming late, incomplete and blatantly copying Microsoft Mesh. For HP, they brought out the best non-Apple all-in-one, a better MacBook Air-like product, and the most incredible gaming desktop I've ever seen.
Grossly biased, lacking facts. Typical Microsoft mentality; We did not invent it, therefore it is flawed. Fortunately, Mr. Enderle cannot change facts and the truth (Nor can Microsoft). The public decided, Mr. Enderle's opinion is meaingless and stupid.
I would be a little less careless how you throw the word "multi-touch" around. The only company that I know of who owns the patent on multi-touch is Apple. Do not confuse regular touch screen hardware and software with multi-touch. Being a user of the former FingerWorks products I can say that there is simply NO COMPARISON! Some kids in a HP commercial dancing and touching screens will not disguise that fact.
Couldn't agree with you more, dralien. I've been trying to ignore Rob's obvious hate of Apple Inc.., but this is ridiculous. Ok, some features are delayed. Accepted. But really, so what?! Apple's incorporated them, hasn't it? And don't you know that that increased monthly fee is ONLY for Americans on AT&T? And what more could you expect? Plus, you completely skipped over the availability of the iPhone worldwide, and GPS. Don't even dare call me an "Apple fanboy".
"Played a trick". "Won't be fooled". Cut us the bull, Enderle.
"First, the phone wasn't even ready yet and wouldn't be until more than a month later. Then, when it becomes available, two major features will still be delayed. The first, MobileMe, is a blatant and limited copy of Microsoft Live Mesh, which is currently in early beta (Apple will beat the product to market but only because they aren't going to beta test it)."
Rob, you are truly sad with your always-off-the-mark-and-negative Apple commentary. MobileMe is quite obviously a rebrand of the .Mac service Apple has had for almost FIVE YEARS!!! All of it's functionality is already present in .mac with one exception: push. The web interface has gotten what appears to be a beautiful facelift... but this service has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH LIVE MESH.
Since you allegedly follow this business for a living, I can only assume that this quote is a willful lie and attempt to smear Apple's record on innovation, much the same way you did when claiming that Microsoft wrote a large portion of the original Mac OS. Just ignore Apple and save yourself the embarrassment. You're the worst.
