Marvel Comics is opening its archives to the public with the launch of an online subscription service called "Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited," the company announced Tuesday. Curated by Marvel editors, the company's Super Hero adventures collection is now available in one digital location, giving fans access to thousands of titles from Marvel's historic comic book archives. The collection ranges from the first issues of Amazing Spider-Man , The X-Men and other favorites to more recent story lines, miniseries and special issues.

OK, I have been trying to use this site all day now. So how many people would like to take a wild guess at how tech savvy and how many fans of Marvel comics are in the world. I know more than a few and of those, 9 of 10 are online and are competent surfers.
With this in mind, why in the world would Marvel launch something like this without having the resources to handle the surge to their site. As my previous post mentions, the registration form on their site is about as bad as it gets. On top of that, approximately every other attempt to navigate their site fails miserable with unable to load page or site not available.
If Marvel and Stan want someone that can predict load and build the necessary infrastructure to handle these types of launches they should give me a call. I'm not a HUGE fan boy, so I can only imagine how the real fan boys are reacting right now. It may not amount to a drop in the bucket, but I'm sure that marvel is also losing customers due to this fiasco.

It is just too bad that their registration is not working properly. Upon attempting to register with the site I was given the message that the user name was already in use. So, I tried various permutations of user names. At this point I'd like to know who registered with "asdpfoidnvpiuae" and can even hope to remember it.
