I spent much of last week hanging out with Lenovo. Although much of what we chat about in those meetings can't be repeated, one thing I can talk about is how Lenovo almost stands alone in defending the PC. While there seems to be a consensus that the PC is dead and being stomped into its grave by wave after wave of smartphones and tablets, Lenovo missed that meeting. In a market defined by decline, it has demonstrated double digit growth.

Thoroughly enjoy your articles...wish I could have been in that get-together.

By the way, of all the phones, laptops, etc I own, there is NO substitute for a current-gen desktop computer. My work at home (audio/video remastering) consumes the resources of two of them in a session.

Besides, @ 65, my thumbs don't work well with a smartphone textpad.

Thanks for the kind thoughts and my thumbs suck with them as well.

What do you think about Hillary Clinton's use of private email servers during her term as Secretary of State?
She broke the law and should go to jail.
She violated guidelines -- the issue is overblown.
She placed important state department information at risk.
Her servers might have been more secure than the government's.
I really don't care one way or the other.
