To Editor ...
Conclusion here are no right!
It is base on the "fact" that since
Apple's Market share = 2%; then
overall IBM's PowerPC business with Apple = 2%
Which isn't right.
Lets Focus on PowerPC only, not future Cell!!
How many representative! customers, Does IBM semiconductor division has, for PowerPC chip?
to suit Desktop, Laptop or Server:
1) IBM itself
2) Apple
3) FreeScale??? (Just for the sake of mentioning)
As far as I know, neither: HP, Sun, SGI, Nec, Dell, Gateway, Unisys, Siemen, Sony, Toshiba, Acer
had or is using IBM or Freescale PPC, PPC G4 or
PPC G5 on non of their current Desktop, Laptop and
Server.
Only Apple demand PPC chip for its Desktop
and Server. (Powerbook and iBook use Freescale
version of PPC G4)
I'm pretty sure that Apple business with IBM was
much more that 2% of market share.
