See Full StoryIn a move that underscores its desire to become a fixed-price e-tail force, eBay said it
is stepping up plans to absorb its Half.com subsidiary.
"We have always believed that our business and the success of the eBay community of users
is best served by one seamless global brand," eBay spokesperson Kevin Pursglove told the
E-Commerce Times on Wednesday. "The decision to speed up the integration will likely
result in dropping the Half brand altogether in favor of an identity directly linked
to eBay."
QUOTE:"Pursglove said that the integration will result in 18 jobs being cut from Half.com.
Another 27 workers, most in customer service at Half.com, will be offered the chance to move to eBay headquarters in San Jose, California or its customer service facility in Salt Lake City, Utah."
HALF.COM has the worst customer service on the internet! Ebay has a wonderfully quick chat window. In minutes one can correspond with a customer service person. HALF(as@$d).COM has a webform that is almost impossible to find. I have $475 in limbo, so I submitted the webform 3 days ago - NO RESPONSE!!! THAT IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT I HAVE ENCOUNTERED ON THE INTERNET - AND THEY ARE LAYING OFF CUSTOMER SERVICE EMPLOYEES. UP IN WHAT AREA ARE THE HEADS OF THESE CORPORATE DECISION MAKERS????
I'M A MAJOR SELLER, AND I'M USING AMAZON.COM EXCLUSIVELY FROM NOW ON! (Incidently, Amazon just lowered its commission from the outrageous 15% (like half.com) to 10%. Hats off to AMAZON

It is amazing how crappy Half.com still is. Ebay should migrate the whole thing over to Ebay Auctions, and dump Half.com altogether.
