Microsoft said Wednesday it had answered European Union complaints that it had failed to comply with an antitrust ruling under threat of fines of up to 2 million euros (US$2.38 million) a day. So.. Microsoft's answer is, "We paid some people to review our documents and tell you that we complied. They didn't fake the evidence or make false statements, like everyone else we hire for this sort of thing, trust us!" Umm.. No, I will trust experts from the side making the demand, not the one trying to comply with it, or at best, from a truely disinterested third party. Having the guys who need to comply hiring the people that say they did, is bloody stupid, not to mention a conflict of interest.
