Google Unleashes Mobilegeddon on Unprepared Websites


Webmasters who have not conformed to Google's mobile-friendly mandate have been cast out of their previous ranks on the mobile version of search, now that Mobilegeddon has befallen the world. Google last fall announced that it would give higher rankings to websites it deemed "mobile friendly," and any site hard to read or navigate on a mobile device would lose prominence in search results.

The Great Apple Watch Marketing Mystery


The day Apple initially picked to launch the Apple Watch was in some respects a dud. The device was not available for sale in Apple Stores on Friday as previously scheduled, although it was available at some high-end fashion boutiques. Confusion reigned over shipments, with Apple earlier having said deliveries would be pushed back to June, but later saying some preorders would be shipped early after all.

Is native advertising good for journalism?
Yes -- It's a reasonable source of additional revenue for media outlets to support their traditional editorial efforts.
Yes -- Paid-for articles can contain useful information, but readers might bypass them if they look too much like ads.
Maybe -- But only if it's clearly labeled as paid-for content.
No -- I don't trust any information from media outlets that cloak paid-for content as objective journalism.
No -- Native advertising is confusing and devious, and it threatens the fabric of traditional journalism.
I Don't Know -- I don't understand what native advertising is.
