Facebook Aims to Turn Social Media Into 'the' Media


With the traditional media still struggling to reshape its identity for the digital age, Facebook may have found an opening that will let it play a larger role in publishing the news. Instead of running excerpts of stories that link to publications' websites, Facebook may host content directly on the network -- accompanied by targeted advertising, of course.

Mobile Banking on a Tear, Says Fed


The days of standing in a long line at a teller desk or ATM to make a routine banking transaction are gone for customers who've embraced mobile banking. "It's a safe and convenient way for folks to get their banking done while on the go," said Carly Fauth, head of marketing at Money Crashers. "Banks that currently aren't employing that strategy are at a competitive disadvantage."
