E-Commerce Times Talkback
See Full StoryOnce upon a time, the performance of bellwethers like Cisco told the economic fortunes of the technology sector as a whole. But Cisco's dismal financial showings over the last two years have left some industry observers wondering whether the company still wields much influence, even though it is still valued far more highly than other companies in the networking and telecommunications equipment sector.
How come no one is questioning this $81B market cap and Cisco's earnings/books? In the age of accounting chicanery, are we to believe that Cisco's books are done by someone other than big 3 accounting firms? In my opinion the slowdown still hasn't caught up with Cisco. The P/E is still entirely too high in comparison to other technology companies with similar profit margins.
